Cathy A. Knorzer, RN, MSN, NP-BC, NEA-BC is Chief Nursing Officer at University Hospitals St. John Medical Center in Westlake, Ohio.

Cathy has been an RN for 35 years, A Certified Women’s and Children’s Nurse Practitioner for 18 years and has held leadership roles for 30 years.

Cathy is passionate about providing patients, families and loved ones exceptional care including safe quality outcomes and an exceptional patient and family experience. Cathy is a strong advocate for not only patients but their loved ones focusing on the impact stress and crisis has on ones behaviors and actions bringing an awareness to the need for the healthcare team to remain nonjudgmental, kind and compassionate on all levels.  Cathy is equally passionate about cultivating an environment for teammates that is comfortable, happy, and secure and leaves one feeling euphoric and proud at the end of a very busy day verses exhausted. Cathy uses a humanistic approach to connect with her teammates and leads by example motivating all team mates from all disciplines to treat one another like we treat the patients and families we serve.

Cathy has consistently remained a Tier One with personal engagement scores, has been nominated multiple times for leader of the year awards and was most recently a finalist for the 2019 Ohio March of Dimes Nurse Leader of the Year Award having been nominated by front line staff.

Cathy will share the concepts of a humanistic approach she has used to build her team and cultivate a culture of excellence, caring and kindness.
